Trail Update
2/12/2008
Hi Everyone
Sunday, we got another 6 inches of snow, and
after the storm we had 50 mile an hour wind gusts on Sunday
night and Monday. With the high winds we could not get out until
today, because of the drifts, you could not tell where the
trails were. We did about 50 % of the trails. And guess what,
more snow coming tonight, another 8 to 12 inches.
We won't give up and we will get the
trails back to the way they were, so be sure to get here and
enjoy them. We have plenty of snow and you won't find a bare
spot anywhere
Trail Update

Happy Valentines Day
Yesterday we got over a foot of snow and then
the sleet and rain came.
We will be digging out today and let the snow
settle on the trails.
The first thing Friday we will be out breaking
open the trails.
By the weekend we will have great snowmobiling.
Trail Update
2/21/2008
Monday we had rain all day on our groomed trails,
we then waited for the water to settle on the trails and
pack down.
Yesterday we broke trails all day and
our trails are in great shape they are well packed and
smooth. So we have great snowmobiling, but it is cold today
about 5 below. We will be back out today.
Be careful on some of the narrow trails we have
branches hanging down because of the amount of the snow we have,
we have been trimming them as we go.
For anyone who did not see the eclipse last
night.

Hi Everyone
The trails have been groomed on Sunday &
Monday and are in great shape.
Guess what it is snowing now and we are to get 8
to 15 inches. There is no end to the snow.
We will have the trails back in good shape for
the weekend. I have enclosed a couple of pictures taken Sunday.
The weather was mild and the sky was so blue, it was just
beautiful on the trails and out on Onawa.
I hope to see you all Saturday at Elliottsville
Day.

Hi Everyone
I just posted a lot of information and pictures on the web
page.
GPS CLASS
80 Mile Snowmobile Trip
Trail Head Dedication
1st Annual Elliottsville Day
We got over a foot of snow and no place to put it, We will start
working on the trails in a couple of days, after the snow
settled's.
THINK SAFETY
Anyone out breaking trails or out
alone be sure someone knows where you are going. I
broke trails alone last week and went off the trail and buried
my sled for 2 hours and I was lucky that I was able to use my
cell phone. Mike came out to help.
Be care full riding, today a fourth person got
killed snowmobiling this weekend.
Thanks
Angelo
UPDATE
SAFETY, SAFETY & SAFETY
The email I sent last night said 4
people were killed snowmobiling over the weekend.
This morning another person was
killed. Five people have been killed in 72
hours and one of the deaths happened in Shirley.
The warden service said they are shifting their
priority from checking ice fisherman to being on the trails.
A total of 9 people have been killed since January.
Let's finish the season safely and not
get any tickets from the warden service.

TRAIL UPDATE
3/8/2008
Friday we broke trails and all
the trails were open and in good shape. The weather was
mild and sunny and a lot of melting. Last night we got a little
sleet.
Today mild and melting and about
4pm we got the rain and it is raining very hard now.
We will just have to see when it
is over the conditions of the trails.
You should stay off the lakes
because of slush.

TRAIL UPDATE
3/12/2008
We were out all day yesterday braking trails and
cutting up trees that have fallen on the trails. The trails are
packed solid and frozen from all the rain.
Be careful on the frozen trails you don't have
much lubrication for you sled. The trails that the sun hits are
fine.
We might be closing the trail that goes through
the woods from Grindstone Trail to Green Point Rd we have
a lot of water running under the trail and I almost tipped over
going through.
We had a lot of slush on the lakes but luckily
the cold weather took care of it.
The sun is getting higher and warming during the
day so be carefull around the inlets and outlets they are
getting wider and the slush might start again.
Watch for wildlife the Moose have been walking
the trails.
I will be going back to MA this weekend for a
while, we promised the grandchildren a trip to Washington DC. I
will try to keep the updates coming as I receive information.
If you have any request or feedback that you
would like to see for this year or next please let us know.

E-Ville Trail Up-Date
March 15 2008
Today was mild and in the 40's. The sun is
getting high and the snow is good.
We closed the Parlin trail today for everyone's
safety, it runs from the Grindstone trail to the Green Point rd.
We had it closed early in the season till we could fill in all
holes and washouts, well now the water is starting to run under
and beside the trail and the snow is collapsing. The trail
was an old skidder road with many boulders and stumps. See some
pictures, and yes I am leaving tomorrow.

ON THE LEFT SOMEONE WENT OFF THE THE TRAIL

We are strategically installing wood coverings over our signs along our trails to protect them from the weather. These strategic signs will not only give directions in the near future, they are also numbered and will have a GPS coordinate. Our web page and maps will have legends of these strategic signs. In case of any emergency you will be able to let help know where you are on the trail by giving them the number closest to you.
The first suggestion the trailmasters received came from from Patty King. She suggested that we have Telephone Booths along the trail to make phone calls. WOW! Telephone Booths! Is that possible? Yes, it is! Just think about it! We will have some before the winter is over. GREAT IDEA PATTY!!
